MILITARY HISTORY
Jaigarh has been the major military base of the Kachhwaha dynasty for approximately 900 years, from the 11th century to the mid-20th century.
Constantly updated to meet changing military needs, it remained operational even during British administration, housing troops who supported both ceremonial responsibilities and wartime actions such as World Wars.
Today, parts of the fort, such as the Royal Guards Gallery on the eastern side, offer a glimpse into this legacy through exhibitions like War & Peace, showcasing photographs and uniforms that trace the distinguished military and diplomatic careers of the last two ruling Maharajas of Jaipur, Maharaja Sawai Man Singh II and His Highness Brigadier Maharaja Sawai Bhawani Singh.
